The first step in the All-On-4® dental implants procedure is a consultation with Dr. Hage, who will go over your medical and dental history, conduct a full examination, and gather detailed imaging of your oral structures to ensure that you have sufficient jawbone density and are in optimum oral health. Once it’s been determined that you are a good candidate for All-On-4® dental implants, your surgery date can be scheduled and you can move forward to the next steps.

In some cases, depending on your particular treatment plan, you may need to have teeth removed or a bone graft performed before your implant surgery. But if you require no additional procedures, your next visit will involve the surgical insertion of the four titanium implants into your jawbone. The implants are placed with two near the front of the mouth and two near the back to ensure even distribution of the pressure and force from biting and chewing.

When you leave this appointment, you will be given a set of temporary prosthetics to use while you wait for the implants to fuse with your jawbone (in a process called osseointegration) and your permanent set of teeth to be custom fabricated by the lab.

It can take four to six months for the osseointegration process to be completed, but once it does, and you’ve fully healed, you’ll return for a third visit, during which time your new customized set of prosthetics will be placed and any necessary adjustments made. Then all that’s left to do is to show off your full, radiant smile without the embarrassment of denture slippage or missing teeth.
