Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells that are bonded to the surface of your teeth to improve their color, shape, size or length. The types of cosmetic dental problems that veneers can fix include:
Veneers can be used on single or multiple teeth, and they are custom-made to match the color of your natural teeth.
The entire process for getting dental veneers takes two to three appointments. In the first appointment, we will examine the affected teeth to determine whether veneers are appropriate.
If veneers are right for you, we’ll prepare your teeth by slightly reshaping the surface to accommodate the veneer, then make impressions of your mouth and teeth to send to a lab that fabricates the customized veneers.
Once the veneers are ready to attach, your teeth will be cleaned and polished, and a strong adhesive will be used to bond the veneers to your teeth. High-intensity lights are used to harden the adhesive, and we’ll make final adjustments to the veneers as necessary. A third appointment might be necessary to evaluate the placement and ensure your gums are responding to the veneers appropriately.
The main benefit of dental veneers is a beautiful new smile, but there are other benefits as well.
Caring for veneers is as easy as caring for your natural teeth. Just brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly.
Dental veneers are considered cosmetic improvements rather than necessary dental procedures, so dental insurance usually does not cover the cost. However, some insurance policies will cover all or a portion of the cost of veneers if they are needed to restore the structure of the tooth or if an existing veneer is damaged.

The lab is located nearby in Oceanside, and the ceramist comes to our office so we can provide the best custom-made dental prosthetics. Exclusive access to a lab also means faster turnaround time for fabrication jobs, so we can transform your smile in no time!
